PCA 53rd General Assembly Retrospective
The 53rd General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church in America met June 23-26, 2026, in Louisville, Kentucky, and adjourned after acting on overtures, agency reports, nominations, and several continuing study-committee matters.
R2 now maintains a dedicated PCA General Assembly Retrospective with the Assembly Journal, final overture status, the PCA GA history quiz, and GA53 briefing cards. Readers looking for the archive record should start there.
Among the major actions, the Assembly elected RE Melton Duncan as moderator and TE Fred Greco as Stated Clerk, extended work on Christian nationalism and the Directory for Worship, acted on amendments and overtures related to worship, discipline, diaconal matters, and polity, and answered Overture 2025-49 on artificial intelligence in the affirmative as amended.
The 54th General Assembly is scheduled for June 14-18, 2027, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Post-assembly analysis from byFaith, The Aquila Report, and other Reformed sources should now be read alongside the R2 archive materials rather than as a live-event guide.
